What is a Star Tunnel Book?A star tunnel book is an intricate folding format that creates a star shape when fully opened out and secured, but folds back into a flat book form. These books began as children's books in Victorian times, each panel being used for a different scene of a story. The essential thing about star tunnel books is that there is always something at the end of the tunnel. The sculptural form of the star tunnel book is a perfect structure for adding dramatic visual elements and surprise. | What is it for?Star tunnel books can be used to display images, photographs, words, etc: it can make a unique greeting card or a fun "memory" book full of personal symbols or travel stickers. However, it can also be a thing of beauty in itself, using colour, patterning and beautiful papers only. This is the type of book that will be made in the class. Comprehensive notes with many more ideas for star tunnel books to make at home will be provided in the class. | Course Details:The course will be held over 3 Monday evenings: 29th October, and 5th and 12th November, from 6.30-9.00pm.
