A trip to Japan in mid 1980 was our introduction to the amazing range of Japanese papers, especially the beautiful Chiyogami range.
On returning to Sydney my husband and I decided to open a Specialty Paper shop - which we did in Newtown in 1993,
We are both creative people and wanted to present to our customers a colourful shop where these papers could not only be purchased but where ideas for their creative use could also be shown.
Kevin developed DIY invitations where customers could truely create unique invitations to suit any theme or colour scheme with the addition of our beautiful decorative papers. He still continues to offer his design expertise to anyone who needs it.
I was studying bookbinding and quickly realised the many different uses of our papers within this craft.
We offered classes in cardmaking, fun booklets, gift wrapping and any other technique we could research and offer to stimulate the use of these papers.
24 years later we are still doing this. We believe there is a place for this small specialty shop where our customers can explore their creativity and create wonderful items. They can be confident that we have the 'hands on' experience to assist them.Despite seemingly everything being online these days our customers are always delighted when they discover we've still got an "actual shop"..where they can both look, touch and feel the papers!!
For the DIY invitations we can help in the selection of colours and styles, advise on sizing, assist with printing, have the stationery cut to size and give full assembly instructions or we can often offer to do the assembly for our customers.
We love to get feedback from our customers about their uses of our papers & love them to post/comment on our Amazing Paper Facebook page... www.facebook.com/amazingpaper
We mailorder to customers all around Australia and we always like to check to make sure they've both received their order and they're happy with what they've received from us...we've always taken alot of pride in the service we provide..sounds corny but we do care!!
So we'd love you to visit our Amazing Paper Shop and discover for yourself this unique business along with the array of creative ideas on display.
